very practical book
This book answer many questions I had about the bulk vending business. The author starts the book by telling readers his story-how he was going to be a baseball player and how he was dropped by the MLB texas baseball team and how he was clueless about what to do with his life after he knew his baseball career was taken away from him. He then shares with readers the many tryouts he had in the vending business, and how he struggled to get locations to place his machines. By that point, the reader begins to realize that this is a real person who really had to struggled to get where he is at in his vending business. He makes nearly a six figure salary-all in the name of candies. By the end of the book, one learns many of the steps that are required to get into the business. If you want to know the ins and out of vending, this is a book to get. The only issue i had with the e-book was that it had a lot of grammers, and it was clear that no professional editor looked at the book. But, in...

Some friends of mine got the bright idea to go into business together purchasing some vending machines. We didnt exactly know how to do it so my buddy Joey searched if there was any books on the subject and came across this book. I never thought I could make so much money this way!
This book is great, it is a must buy if you are looking to get into, or are not yet experienced in the vending business. It will not lead you the wrong way. After buying this book and reading it a friend and I decided to start our own vending business. We ended up making enough money to pay for college and then some on top of that. Vending is a great way to get started in your own business or just to be your own boss. This book is the number one guide. I've read other books on vending before, but they don't have the secrets that this one contains. You can tell that the author really knew what he was doing and must be a millionaire by now. Let me tell you, buy this book! It will not let you down. It was well worth the 5 dollars I spent. You will obviously get a return on your investment.

Just began reading, criticisms are biased, this is a helpful starter!
Although I just started reading this book, I have already learned how to avoid the numerous scams out there. I am also happy to see that it takes you through the typical day of a vendor's workday. This is the real deal, not the glitz and glamor, not the promise of great wealth for little effort. I'm sorry to see how many biased (dare I say...compensated) reviewers there are on Amazon sabotaging legitimate, helpful books to help sell their competitor's third rate promises. I gave this book 5 stars partly to help it's overall rating, partly because I see that it is a legit book on the topic. Glitz and promises are just going to make you poor while making someone else rich. Good luck.

Basic, Solid, and (Perhaps for Some) Valuable Guidance
Vending Business-In-A-BoxMy rating is based entirely on the value of this manual for those such as I who know nothing about vending machines except as a consumer of what they contain. On that basis, it offers an excellent introduction. However, its ultimate value will obviously depend on the nature and extent of what anyone does with the information provided. To those who are actively interested in "starting a profitable vending business," Krug's manual offers a step-by-step process by which to begin. Although I have no such interest even after reading his manual, I commend him on his efforts to determine whether or not "vending is as good as the hype" claims. As with any other enterprise, success or failure in vending probably has much less to do with the nature of the industry than it does with having business acumen, an appropriate strategy, effective marketing, sufficient resources, and (yes) at least some luck. An ancient aphorism suggests that before embarking on a journey...

New Edition Can Help You Start a Profitable Business
I originally reviewed this book's first edition in 2003 and found it had deficiencies that made the book not as helpful as it might have been. Mr. Krug has recently revised that edition and fixed the problems I mentioned in my review that were present before. I congratulate him on his fine new material . . . and elimination of redundancies. The wealthiest people in our neighborhood while I was growing up had a vending route that provided jawbreakers and bubble gum. I always loved to see the bulk candy in their garage and the piles of nickels they collected. Since then, I've always wanted to know more about the business, which led me to this valuable guide.The book assumes that you know no more about vending than how to put your money in a machine and get some product out.
